Caring for Keratin Bond Extensions in Miami Humidity

Morning: Brush gently from ends upward with a soft-bristle extension brush. Apply a light leave-in conditioner or anti-frizz serum from mid-length to ends — never at the roots near bonds.

Washing: 2–3 times per week maximum. Use sulfate-free, extension-safe shampoo. Wash in a downward motion — never scrub at the roots. Condition from mid-length to ends only.

Drying: Always blow-dry completely after washing. Never sleep with wet extensions. Damp hair near bonds can weaken keratin and cause matting.

Ocean swimming: Salt water is the most damaging. Rinse immediately after. Consider a UV and salt protective spray before ocean exposure.

Important: Avoid submerging your head in saltwater or chlorine for the first 48 hours after installation or rebonding — the bonds need time to fully set.

Avoid applying oils, serums, or conditioners directly on or near the keratin bonds. Oil dissolves keratin over time and shortens the life of your extensions significantly. This is the most common reason extensions slip prematurely in Miami. When using heat tools — blow dryer, flat iron, curling iron — avoid direct heat on the bonds. Style the lengths and ends freely.
